Head of Strategy #RivalGroup #Asthetique
The team at Rival, now Series X, partnered with Asthetique Group to ideate on how to improve the private social club experience and make it feel more exclusive. From this, the IoT bracelet concept was born.
As the Strategic Director, I worked to define the user case scenarios and coordinate with IoT Hardware partners and integrators to better understand the implications for the bracelet design and functionality.

Bracelet Functionality and Design
- Integrate Bluetooth LE integration for custom wearable within a 3 floor subterranean space (with BLE beacons on each floor).
- The custom wearable would receive signals from the beacon and be able to broadcast basic information such as a unique ID and physical location within the space.
User Case Scenarios
- As a founder of the private social club, I want to create a highly compact, fully custom designed IoT bracelet for exclusive use by my patrons. These bracelets will have 2-3 buttons that allow my customers to signal their needs to the staff, i.e. prompt for wait staff or maître d'
- As a founder of the private social club, I want to be able to uniquely assign each bracelet to one member and pair the bracelet's device UUID with their customer ID in my customer CRM.
- As a founder of the private social club, I want to know when my customers arrive at my venue and to be able to pull up their customer profile at a kiosk or tablet device.
- As a founder of the private social club, I want to be able to charge my patrons for their food and drink bill seamlessly when they leave the premises.
- As a member of the private social club, I want to be able to charge my bracelet at home via a standard mini USB port.

Network Visualization
Alongside of the bracelet and tracking customer ID's, we came up with a concept called "the hive" to group patrons into different categories of guests and who they attend events with, in order to better track and target specific groups, preferences and styles through the CRM.
